Ynsuela, Joseph, 80, of South Barre, died May 10, 2002 at Fletcher-Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born July 22, 1921 in Barre City son of Benjamin and Conception (Gonzales) Ynsuela. He attended Orange and Barre City schools.
    On November 15, 1940, he married Mary "Mae" Murray in South Barre. Since their marriage they had resided in South Barre. He had worked as a carpenter for the former H.A. Waugh Construction Company. He later worked for the former Jackson Dairy and then as a lumper and boxer at the Rock of Ages Mfg. Plant in Graniteville.
    During WWII, he served with the Army Air Corps in the European Theatre of Operations. He was a member of the Mutuo Inc., and Barre American Legion Post #10. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and a daughter, a grandson, a great grand daughter and a sister. He was predeceased by a son James Ynsuela in May 1971 and 2 brothers, Manuel and Ignacio Ynsuela and a sister Maria Ynsuela.



   Otha P. McCormick, 86 of East Ridge, Chattanooga passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008.
   Mr. McCormick was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church and the Harverster's Sunday School Class. He graduated from Valley Head High School in DeKalb County, Ala., was employed in the sales department with Happy Valley Farms and a World War II Army Air Force veteran.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Sadler McCormick; parents, Albert and Lou Anna McCormick Crow; stepfather, Levi Crow; brother, Otis McCormick; and sister, Essie Brooks.
   Surviving are his children, Brenda Sandifer, of East Ridge, Patricia Perry and husband, Steve, of Chattanooga and Michael McCormick and wife, Diane of Pensacola, FL, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister, May Erwin of Chattanooga, and brother, Albert McCormick, of Chattanooga.
   Funeral services will be at 1pm Thursday at Spring Creek Road Baptist Church with the Rev. James Julian and the Rev. C. Henry Preston officiating.
   Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
   Pallbearers will be Justin Perry, Jacob Sandifer, Steve Perry, Terry Daffron, Newell Keel and Jeff Bryant. The Harvester"s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

   EDMUND ERIC EVANOFSKI, age 89, of Maple Heights beloved husband of Olive (nee Cranfield); dear father of Sherry, Dan and the late Christin; grand-father of Aaron Housiaux; "Grampa" to the HousiauxStewards; brother of Goldie Patricy and the late Linford Evanofski. Died Monday, February 25, 2008.
   Mr. Evanofski was a retired forger from SIFCO steel manufacturing and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He was a member of Lutheran Church of the Covenant in Maple Heights.

   Will T. Tanner, 86, a resident of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008 in Leesburg, FL.
   Mr. Tanner was born on October 4, 1921 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Will and Emma Tanner. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the 1781st Division of the U.S. Army Air Corps.
   He was a Master Mason and a member of the Ooltewah Masonic Lodge. Mr. Tanner held memberships with the Chattanooga Scottish Rite, the Alhambra Shrine, American Legion Post 95, and the Half Century Club. He had also served as past Commodore of the Loret Boat Club and as a past member of the Royal Order of Jester.
   Mr. Tanner retired from Wheeland Foundry after 37 years of service.
   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
   Survivors include his loving wife, Marie Tanner; three children, Ron Tanner of Ooltewah, TN, Marcella May of Decatur, TN, and Sheila Hoots of Charlotte, NC; sister, Geanette Able of Gadsden, AL; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Roberson, Rev. Jim Milligan, and Rev. William Coulter officiating.
   Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
   The family will receive friends for visitation on 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Stearl Rosier Sr.
   Stearl Rosier Sr., 85, a resident of the Clover Run community, died Oct. 6, 2005, at his home. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to cancer.
   He was born Thursday, May 6, 1920, at Clover Run, a son of the late Saul Rosier and Cora Channels Rosier. On February 21, 1942, at Baltimore, Md., he was married to Leeorr Marie Rosier, who survives. They had celebrated sixty three years of marriage.
   Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee “Bud” (and Beverly) Rosier of Clover Run and Rodney “Sug” (and Donna Kay) Rosier of Pifer Mountain; a daughter, Shirley Ann (and Hoye Lynn) Carr of Parsons; one brother, Denver (and Virginia) Rosier of St. George; a daughter-in-law Flora Jean Rosier of Martinsburg; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by a son, Stearl “Sonny” Rosier Jr.; a brother, Vance Rosier; a sister, Stella Sherman; a grandson, Rocky Allen Rosier; a granddaughter, Melissa Lynn Rosier; and a daughter-in-law, Marsha Lee Plum Rosier.
   He attended the Harper School at Clover Run. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during World War II. He and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm having produced milk for the Carnation Dairy Co. for twenty-eight years. Later they established a registered Polled Hereford farm. He was a sawyer for many local mills. He retired from Hinchcliff Lumber Company in Hendricks as head band saw operator after twenty-five years of employment, retiring in 1985.
   Friends were received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Oct 8. Final rites were held at the funeral home parlor on Oct. 9 with Pastor Eli Hostetler officiating. Interment followed at the Harsh Cemetery at Clover Run, where the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and The Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars conducted Military Rites.

Frank was a retired Postal Worker for the Brooklyn Post Office, having worked for them for 25 years. After coming to NJ, he worked as a Court Officer for Randolph Twp. Mr. Monti was a former Eucharist Minister for Resurrection Parish in Randolph, NJ. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving from 1942-1946. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption, Hackettstown, NJ. He was a former member and past Grand Knight of Our Lady of Loreto Council in Brooklyn, NY; 3rd degree member of Saint Michael's Knights of Columbus Council in Netcong; and a 4th degree member of Monsignor E.E. Hartje, Reuben W.
April 6, 1924 - June 19, 2009

  On June 19, 2009 at the age of 85 Years, a humble hero completed his earthly mission. Reuben William Hartje was born to Herman and Wilhelmenia Hartje on April 6, 1924. He was the second oldest of seven boys raised on a farm in LaValle,Wi.. His life journey lead him through the Great Depression and WWII.
  In 1943, at the age of 19, Reuben was drafted in the Army Air Corp. He was the radio operator and waist gunner on a B26 Marauder for the 586 Bomb Squadron, 394th Bomb Group of the 9th Air Force. While flying  a mission over France, Reuben's plane was forced into a crash landing and he was missing for 13 days.
  Again on March 22, 1945, while flying his 35th mission over Haltern, Germany, his plane was shot down by enemy fire. Three of the six crew survived to parachute out. Reuben was in hiding for four days before being captured by the Germans just two miles from the Canadian allies. As a POW, he was taken to Stalag 11B in Falenbostel,Germany. After three days in the compound, all POW's above sergeant rank were sent on a march. They marched for 26 days. On May 2, Reuben was liberated by the British. During this time, his parents received a telegram by a uniformed officer that Reuben was missing and presumed dead.
  After the war, he returned to the States and at the age of 21 years he started his own trucking business. He continued his own business until 1963 and then stayed in the trucking industry until 1987 when he retired.
  He and his wife, Pauline, enjoyed spending time with their large family and traveled throughout the country in their RV making many friends on the way. Reuben was a true hero in every sense of the word to his family. Everyone who knew him was blessed by his good sense of humor, calm demeanor and strong values. He was a man of honor and will be greatly missed.
  He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Nee Smith). His children Ray (Julie) of Beloit, WI., Don (Jolene) of Green Valley, Arizona, Gary (Gail) of Beloit, WI., Bob (Virginia) of Racine, WI., Richard (Jenise) of Grand Junction, Colorado, Terry (Natalie) of Lodi, WI. Jean (Glenn Hoslett) of Waukesha, Thom (Diane) of San Diego, Calif and Holly (Rick) Clanton of Menomonee Falls, WI. He is brother of Bill and Virgil (Edith) both of LaValle, WI and Ken (Iris) of Doniphan,Missouri. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
  Committal Service with Full Military Honors will be Friday July 17, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is appreciated to allow other WWII Veterans to see their Memorial in Washington DC.
  The family would like to thank the VA Medical Center for its many years of excellent care it provided him in good health and bad.


Rzepka, Joseph
   Joseph J. Rzepka, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2010.
   Joseph’s allegiances were to God, family, and country, and he lived his life in devoted service to these convictions. His passions led him to a career in the educational field, which included positions as physical education teacher, principal, and ultimately Superintendent of South Redford Schools.
   Joe was most proud of his service in the Army Air Force during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations. Joe completed 65 missions as a gunner in an A-20 Havoc, participated in D-Day operations, and received a Purple Heart. After the war he attended Wayne State University, where he was a varsity athlete and a member of the mischievous Gashouse Gang. There he met Patricia working as a secretary on campus.
   Joe and Pat were married in 1950, and raised their eight children in South Redford, MI. In 1969 they purchased the A&W restaurant in Lexington and moved to the village that became their home. Joe became involved in local politics, joining numerous committees and service organizations, and served as Lexington’s Village President for seven years. He greatly enjoyed the people that he met and worked with in Lexington.
   Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia, and eight children; Janet, John, Joe (Catherine), Kathleen, Peggy (Steven) Stencel, Judy Gaw, Sue (Stephen) Bombard, and Patti (Cam) Comire; his nineteen grandchildren were the light of his life. He is survived also by his loving sister Bernice Zygiel of Lexington and one brother Louis (Jeanne) of Cortland, NY. Joe will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
   A funeral service was held at the St. Denis Church in Lexington.
   Interment was at the St. Denis Cemetery.

Basford, Franklin P
   FRANKLIN P. BASFORD (Age 88)
Of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday November 28, 2010 in Fairfax, VA. He is survived by his son, Philip, and his sister Deloris, of New York. Also mourning his passing are Marty, and Candy Hohlweg of South Carolina.
  During WWII he was in the Army air corps. He flew in more than 50 missions over Western Europe in 1944 and 45. He was very proud of his service in the 416th Bomb group, flying in A-20s and A-26s. During the late 1940s he was a member of the 11th Airborne Division, 511th regiment, serving in Japan.
  From the early 1960s until his retirement, he worked for the Department of the Navy, both at the Philadelphia navy yard and here in the Washington, D.C. area.
  Services are private.


Springgate, Jack R
   JACK R.SPRINGGATE passed away on Jan. 29, 2008 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
  He was born on May 2, 1923 in Seattle Washington as the only child of Margaret and Glen Springgate, both deceased. His college education, at the University of Washington, in Mechanical Engineering and as a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, and lettering in crew, was interrupted when he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943. During his training he met his wife at the University of Arkansas, and they were married Sept 2, 1944 in Del Rio, Texas. Jack returned to the University of Washington to complete his degree 1948.
  He worked for Boeing Airplane Co. in the Design Division. They attended the University of Arkansas, in August 1949, from which he received his J.D. 1952. He was admitted into Phi Alpha Delta, National Law Honorary and participated in the Law Review. Jack became the in-house counsel for the engineering firm of Black, Sivalls, & Bryson of Kansas City, Missouri, in 1952. He was accepted to practice Patent Law on July 30, 1953.
   While living in Kansas City, he became very active in the Junior Chamber of Commerce and won "The Outstanding Chairman of the Year" for his work with the Chamber and the YMCA. He also loved to play golf and watch sports on TV.
  In May 1963, Mr. Springgate joined the law firm of Vinson & Elkins in Houston in Intellectual Properties until his retirement in 1993. While at V&E he was admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court. He served as President of the Houston Patent Law Association, as well as his local civic association. He never lost a patent law case in a court trial.
  He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Charlene Springgate; his two daughters, Cheryl Huntley, and Cindy Wilson with husband Ron, and two granddaughters, Malinda and Holly Huntley.
  Family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with funeral services in the chapel there at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 2, 2008. Military honors and interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.


Ford, Cecil R
   Cecil R. Ford, 88, of Chattanooga passed away Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, in a local hospital.
   He was an active member of Lookout Valley Presbyterian Church. Mr. Ford was a veteran of the WWII in an aviation ordinance attached to the 9th Air Force. He was retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Artice Hendricks Ford; and a sister, Joyce Peters.
   Survivors include several nieces and nephews and many precious friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Rev. Grady Davidson officiating.
   Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today and from 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

O'Neil, Merrill Chumbly

   August 24, 1922-September 7, 2010
   Mr. O'Neil was born in Laramie, WY on August 24, 1922 to Frank Mathias O'Neil and Neva Agnes (Chumbley) O'Neil. He attended grade school across the road from the family home on the Johnson Ranch on Herrick Lane northwest of Laramie. The family moved to Saratoga, WY area when he was 13 and lived and worked on various area ranches. Merrill served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. for just over two years and returned to Saratoga when he was 18.
  At the beginning of the WWII, he volunteered for the US Army Air Corp, serving in England and France during the war. He was discharged at Ft. Lupton, CO in October, 1945 and returned to Saratoga. He worked as mechanic and met married Ruth Ione Thomason on April 8, 1946.
   Merrill continued to work as a mechanic, owned a gas station and hauled logs in the mountains around Saratoga until 1965 when he went to work for CJ Abbott Construction out of Latramie. During that time, he and Ruth traveled extensively in southern Wyoming and northern Colorado and settled in the Palisade Area.
   They had two sons, Kerry Lee (killed in a truck accident in 1973) and Douglas Edward of Ucross, WY. He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by one son, two grandsons, three great grandchildren and his sister, Barbara Weatherill of Oregon City, OR.
   There will be a celebration of his life at a gathering at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary at 3:00p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010. Final interment will be in Laramine, WY. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado.

   SHOOK, Elden G. Colonel (USAF Ret.) 87, of Enon, OH died Sunday, December 26, 2010. He was born June 6, 1923 in Union County, IN to Iliff and Frances (Graham) Shook. Elden retired as Division Chief (computer operations) with the Defense Electronic Supply Center (DESC) and also was a retired Colonel from the USAF. During WWII he was a B-26 Marauder pilot with the Ninth Air Force in Europe.
   Among his many awards were the Military Legion of Merit, the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Army of Occupation Medal. Civilian awards included the DSA Meritorious Civilian Service Award. He was a member of Knob Prairie United Church of Christ, the Order of Daedalians, the Air Force Association, the Retired Officers Association, a Board of Directors member of the 394th Bomb Group Association and had volunteered over 3600 hours at the Air Force Museum.
   Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Mildred (Toner) Shook; a brother, E. Graham Shook, South Charleston, WV; a sister, Marjorie Benton, Indiana; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Knob Prairie United Church of Christ, Enon, OH.


Farrell, Joseph Edward Sr.
January 23, 1920 - January 2, 2005

   Joseph Edward Farrell Sr., born in Sleepy Eye, MN, died peacefully in Palm Harbor, FL. He lived in Bloomington and Woodbury and moved to Florida 27 years ago.
   As a member of the greatest generation, he will be remembered for his bravery. He served in WWII with the 394th Bomb Group, 584th Squadron, as a pilot of the B-26 Martin Marauder, making 67 missions. He was a pilot with Northwest Airlines for 35 years. He was a member of the ALPA and the VFW.
   Joe was a unique individual who endeared himself to so many with his humor and charm.
   Survivers include his wife, Barbara of Safety Harbor, FL, a brother, John P. Farrell (Kay) of Enid, OK, daughters: Diane Moore (Roger) of FL, Bridget Hoschette (Jim)of Lover Grove, Mary Peterson (Tom) of Minneapolis, Meg Farrell of FL, sons: Timothy Farrell of Shorewood, Brian Farrell of NV, Joseph Farrell Jr. (Jen) of FL, stepdaughter Erin Murphy (Mike) of GA, stepson Ian Pierce(Judy) of FL, Kelly Griffin(Julianne) of OR, grandchildren: Tina, Tony, Ben, Patrick, Shawn, April, Mamie, 8 great grandchildren, and dear nieces and nephews: Susan, Mike, Maureen, Beth, and Joe.
   A memorial gathering was held at Clearwater, FL on Friday, January 7, 2005. An additional service will be held in the Twin Cities in June 2005.

Chief Master Sergeant. After retiring from the military, he worked at 
Nebraska Furniture Mart in Omaha, NE. He was known for his wry sense of 
humor and his unique outlook on life. He could often be found "pontificating" 
at the Coffee Shop in Glenwood. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 
years, Gladys P. Roll who died on March 2, 1994. He is survived by a daughter 
and son-in-law Connie and Walt Sherry, Gretna, NE; son and daughter-in-law, 
R. C. and Carolyn Roll, Bentonville, AR. He and Gladys were blessed with seven 
grandchildren: Bob, Ron, Nadja, J. D., Sheila, Jennifer and Danielle and also 
13 great-grandchildren, Mckenna, Skyler, Isabella, Noah, Gillian, Ben, Nate, 
Ryan, Grant, Angela, Savannah, Jada and Luke.
He was quietly laid to rest by his family, next to his beloved wife Gladys, 
in the Glenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, November 24th

Mr. Roe was born June 7, 1922, in Hamilton, the son of Cecil and Louan Roe. He 
was married to Sylvia "De De" Schulte on June 9, 1951, in Mineral Wells. They 
moved to Odessa in 1955. He served during World War II in the US Air Force as 
an ammunition tech with the rank of sergeant. He worked as a machinist in Odessa 
for 45 years. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Roe, his twin brother, Wade Roe, and 
a sister, Lois Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife, De De De Roe; a daughter, Judy Lynn Smith and husband 
John B.; a brother, Horace Roe and wife Wilma; two sisters, Lola Peters and husband
 Ernest and Jinny Parker and husband Doug; and three grandchildren.

James Roan Birth: Apr. 30, 1917 Death: Feb. 4, 2004 Funeral services for Mr. James Mitchell Roan, 86, of Roan Road were held Friday, Feb. 6, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with Dr. Edwin L. Cliburn officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Roan died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004 at his residence. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Floyd Reynolds Birth: Jul. 23, 1922 Death: Jul. 18, 1999 Services for Floyd Lake Reynolds, 76, of Lubbock will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel with Paul Jantzen and David Miller, pastors, officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. He died Sunday, July 18, 1999, at his residence. He was born July 23, 1922, in Lone Oak. He graduated from Slaton High School and attended Texas Tech. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European theater for three years during World War II. He married Norma Jones on May 31, 1948 in Brownfield. He farmed in the Lubbock and Lynn counties before retiring in 1980. He was also associated with McQueen Realty as a Realtor. He was a resident of the Lubbock area for most of his life, and was a member of the Slaton VFW Post. He was a member of Hillcrest Country Club and Trinity Church.
